The SMMtv project (Santa Maria del Mar
Television) was concieved in the English classroom as a resource for the monitoring
and evaluation of our oral English skills. Unfortunately, being a volunteer project and as the filming takes place during non-school hours, not all of our students can participate in it. A still from each project will appear once they are finalized.
Our method of approach was simple: groups were given complete freedom in
the choosing of genre, medium and workgroup. For the first phase, a basic draft or an outline of the script must be recieved and approved by the teacher. Once
approved, the group must work with our New Zealand language assistant to adjust, correct and/or
translate it (if this one was not delivered in English).
From
here, because we are using the ChromaKey technique, all members of
the group must find the necessary background pictures and videos needed
for their production.
After
this preparation process, the participants must agree on a day after school when they are ready with their scripts memorized (it was not
always the case). Most of the editing process is done by Mr. Mike but we do have some students who can edit.
We hope you enjoy watching the various and varied results.
